SELL / TRADE-IN POLICY

GENERAL

This Sell / Trade-In Policy outlines the terms under which Pristine Asset Partners Pty Ltd trading as PokeBox Australia ("PokeBox", "we", "us", "our") purchases trading cards and related items from customers ("you", "your").

By selling or trading items to PokeBox, you agree to the terms outlined below.


ELIGIBILITY TO SELL

To sell or trade items to PokeBox, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age; or
  • Have permission from a parent or legal guardian

We reserve the right to request valid identification for any transaction, particularly for high-value items.


OWNERSHIP DECLARATION

By submitting or selling items to PokeBox, you confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner of the items;
  • The items are not stolen, counterfeit, or subject to any ownership dispute;
  • You have full authority to sell or transfer ownership of the items

PokeBox reserves the right to refuse, delay, or cancel any transaction where ownership concerns arise.


OFFER & PRICING

All offers made by PokeBox:

  • Are based on our internal assessment of condition, authenticity, and market demand
  • May differ from third-party grading opinions or market listings
  • Are subject to change based on market fluctuations

Quotes provided (including online, in-store, or via message) are valid for a limited time only and may be revised upon physical inspection.


CONDITION ASSESSMENT

All items are assessed using PokeBox’s internal grading standards.

By selling to us, you acknowledge that:

  • Condition assessments are subjective
  • Minor imperfections may not impact our offer
  • Final pricing is determined at our discretion following inspection

FINAL SALE

All transactions are final.

Once payment has been issued or store credit has been applied:

  • The transaction cannot be reversed
  • Items cannot be returned to the seller
  • Ownership transfers permanently to PokeBox

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment will be made after assessment and acceptance of the final offer.

We may offer payment via:

  • Bank transfer
  • Cash (where applicable)
  • Store credit

Store credit offers may be higher than cash offers and are subject to separate terms.

PokeBox reserves the right to delay payment where necessary for fraud prevention, verification, or compliance purposes.


TRADE-IN (STORE CREDIT)

Where store credit is selected:

  • Credit may only be used at PokeBox Australia
  • Credit is not redeemable for cash
  • Additional terms may apply depending on promotions or offers

RIGHT TO REFUSE

PokeBox reserves the right to refuse any items or transactions at its sole discretion, including where:

  • Items do not meet quality or authenticity standards
  • There are concerns regarding ownership or legality
  • Market demand does not support purchase

AUTHENTICITY & GRADED CARDS

For graded and ungraded cards:

  • PokeBox is not responsible for future grading outcomes or value changes
  • Any differences in grading opinions between PokeBox and third-party grading companies (e.g. Professional Sports Authenticator) do not affect the agreed transaction
  • Once purchased, all risk relating to authenticity or grading transfers to PokeBox

FRAUD & VERIFICATION

PokeBox reserves the right to:

  • Request identification from sellers
  • Record transaction details
  • Delay or withhold payment where fraud or ownership concerns arise
  • Report suspicious activity to relevant authorities where required

SECOND-HAND GOODS COMPLIANCE

PokeBox complies with applicable laws relating to second-hand goods transactions in Victoria, including obligations under the Second-Hand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 1989 where applicable.

We may:

  • Record seller identification details
  • Maintain transaction records
  • Cooperate with law enforcement where required

RISK & TITLE TRANSFER

Ownership of items transfers to PokeBox once:

  • The transaction is completed; and
  • Payment has been issued

Until that time, items submitted remain at the seller’s risk unless otherwise agreed.


SUBMISSION & HANDLING

While PokeBox takes reasonable care when handling submitted items:

  • We are not liable for pre-existing damage, undisclosed defects, or alterations
  • Sellers are responsible for ensuring items are safely packaged when sending items to us

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PokeBox is not liable for:

  • Market value changes after purchase
  • Differences in grading outcomes
  • Indirect or consequential losses

Nothing in this policy excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.


VARIATION

PokeBox reserves the right to update this policy at any time without notice.
